The Lalbert Landcare Group formed in 1996 to access funds for rabbit and weed control and to increase the education of the local landholders in environmental issues such as salinity and revegetation. There are approx 40 landholders within the group covering approximately 17,000 Ha's and activities include follow up to earlier rabbit ripping, Boxthorn and Horehound control programs. The group continue's to seek funding to implement projects that will benefit both the environment and agriculture and they continue to work in partnership with the Mallee Catchment Management Authority to do projects across their region.
