This project is live

Quicksilver is Torquay Landcare's sponsor, so for the fourth year Quiksilver staff joined community volunteers in a big revegetation project on the Anglesea Dunes

Wednesday 27 July was a fantastic day –the sun came out after days of rain and wintery cold –a perfect planting day. We had lots of enthusiast workers from Quicksilver, Anglesea Coast Action, Torquay Landcare Group and GORC. We all worked hard and most of the 1100+ plants were in by morning tea. We were rewarded with yummy cakes and a cuppa, and back to stake and mulch the plants. It was slower and harder work up and down the dunes ferrying buckets of mulch but rewarding to have it nearly completed by lunch-time. Frenchy and Sarah produced another wonderful lunch of nourishing soup and chicken shasliks, salad, fresh rolls and fruit, all in the comfort of the Surf Lifesaving Club with their fantastic views. A great day of co-operation by everyone involved. A big thank you to Rhonda Bunbury for all the organising and planning, to Anglesea Coast Action, Geoff Clark for the plants and advice and help on the day, Georgie Beale from GORC for tirelessly moving mulch all day, Andy Gray from DSE for the supply of the Coastcare trailer and tools, Frenchy and Sarah for the great catering and or course Quiksilver staff who gave up their day and put in such a great effort. Thank you to everyone –well done!
