This event is part of
Clearing woody weeds along Forest Creek.
Welcome to 2017. We hope you had a restful January and are keen to commence some landcaring work.
Our next working bee is on Sunday 12 February, at the summer commencement time of 9.00 am. Meet at Tute's Cottage on Greenhill Avenue.
Our task is to clear some woody weeds from the channel section of Forest Creek between Tute's Cottage and Wheeler St. People can work in teams of about three to cut weeds, paste the stalks, and remove debris.
Some details:
- There is some shade in the area, but bring hats, sunscreen and insect repellent.
- Also bring gumboots (although there is very little water still there) or other stout footwear, and gloves of course.
- We'll have some tools, but extra long-handled cutters or strong secateurs would be handy.
- Finally, if anyone has an empty plastic ice-cream container, that will be handy.
We will start at 9.00 am and have morning tea at about 11.00.
