Come along and help us find and protect the germinating wattles that we sowed back in July.

Our newly emerging wattles are still only tiny, but now is a good time to discover where they are and protect them (before the wallabies and kangaroos start eating them!).

We’ll start with a quick inspection of our wildflower exclosure: it’s looking absolutely lovely at the moment. Here’s a recent photo. There’s more photos online here.

Then the hunt begins!  We'll fan out across the valley to look for the wattle seedlings. Once discovered, we'll protect each spot: temporarily with tangles of branches we collect nearby, or 'permanently' with netting guards if we've been able to collect enough of them.

Meet at 10:00 AM here outside the exclosure.

Leave cars at the parking area at the north end of Honeycomb Road. It’s a two minute (180 m) stroll  down the trail to the meeting spot.

Bring: gloves.  Please wear hat, sturdy clothing and footwear suitable for the weather and bring your own drinking water and any snacks you might want.  We'll supply the rest.

Don’t forget your face mask!  CoVID 19 restrictions will still be in place, so unfortunately no morning tea can be supplied .
