Come along to help us maintain our 2011 plantings. After such a wet beginning to March, weed growth has been prolific and it is vital we manually clear weeds from around young plants to reduce competition.
During 2011, participants in both School's Field Day and Community Field Day planted over 1000 native trees and understorey species to enhance the riparian environment of the Bendigo Creek at Huntly.
We encourage community participation in our restoration works and warmly welcome anyone who wishes to come along and lend a hand to ensure our young seedlings make it to maturity.
Please bring weed clearing tools (shovel, rake, hoe) and gloves, drinks, snacks, sunscreen. Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Registering on the day will ensure you are covered by our insurance policy.
