This is the third and final native gardening workshop in a series held throughout 2013. Following on from an introduction to gardening with natives in April and a tour of local gardens and native nurseries in June, this workshop will take participants out into the beautiful Bendigo Bush in Spring. Preliminary plans for this workshop at present include:
a tag along car tour of prominent wildflower sites in the forest surrounding Bendigo. We are very fortunate that our local bush comes alive in Spring with many sites featuring a spectacular show of wildflowers that would rival and beat the most carefully planned home garden. Attended again by experts, including members of the Bendigo Field Naturalists Club, this tour will explain the role of wildflowers in local biodiversity, raise awareness of our local bush and inspire participants to incorporate natives in their own gardens. We plan to conclude the morning tour with a BBQ lunch.
Keep an eye on this space for alterations to event details as the day draws closer.
