The North East Catchment Management Authority, together with the Ovens Valley Landcare Network, with the Caring For Our Country Soil Carbon Programme, presents a day on Soil Aeration
Soil Aeration equipment supplied by ‘FarmTech’ and local landholders. Aeration demonstrations with guest speaker Gwyn Jones, Agronomist of Integrated Agri-Culture.
The Three options to improve soil aeration are:
Grazing improves root penetration, they push > elongate > expansion > die > decay > cavity made, earthworm burrow. Soil biology ‘glue’ particles together.
Calcium opens up a soil, Magnesium tightens it.
There are Four types of mechanical aeration, which one is the best for me?
‘FarmTech’ of Wodonga are bringing along a range of Aeration equipment for dem-onstrations and Local Murmungee Landholder James Neary’s Aerator is also being displayed and demonstrated on site.
