May 5th to 20th 2007
With Graeme George, David Arnold, Beck Lowe and Ian Lillington
This is a two-week residential Permaculture Design Course (PDC).
The course, over 93 hours, will cover the whole PDC curriculum with extra time for local
issues and reading the regional landscapes. Attention will be given to the
community development aspects of sustainable living.
Four experienced tutors will lead an engaging and interactive learning
experience.
Included in the course are field trips to a diverse range of permaculture,
agriculture, forestry and community living projects in the district. These
include cooler, wetter locations in the hills, and hotter, drier sites further
inland.
The Murrnong property, on the edge of Violet Town, will be used as a local
example of applied permaculture design. David Arnold has developed this eight
hectare property and proposed community subdivision over the past ten years.
On completion participants will be issued with a Permaculture Design
Certificate. This course is an essential knowledge component for those wishing
to gain the nationally accredited Cert IV in Permaculture.
Accommodation is at The Parish, Violet Town. Total cost for the course, meals,
and shared room accommodation is $995. Some private room accommodation, or
camping, is available.
A deposit of $100 is required to secure your place, and let us know you are
serious about doing the course. This deposit would be refunded if the course did
not take place.
