27th August, 10am – 4pm
This workshop will provide an overview of the 4 options for farm transition:
- Keeping on and slowing down
- Deals with family – succession planning on and off farm
- Deals with others – such as share farming, lease and hybrids
- Moving on - options for sale while keeping tax down, income up and living life to the fullest
Rob will show how plans can be structured to cover the implications of the range of different financial scenarios and unplanned life events that may arise, including high vs modest wealth, death or incapacity of a family member, divorce, aged care, forced exit and family separations.Workshop 2 – A guide to making the most of the ‘money games’
15th October, 10am – 4pm (venue to be advised)
Too often people find out things and think ‘if only I’d known that sooner’. This workshop will look at how to make the most of financial opportunities and avoid the pitfalls of the ‘money games’: Tax, Centrelink benefits, investing and finance, as well as family dealings to protect relationships and limit the high risk of conflict.
Rob will discuss how each of the money games are relevant to each of the 4 transition options from Workshop 1.Workshop 3 – Family succession planning
November, 10am – 4pm (date & venue to be advised)
This workshop will cover planning to avoid heartache and protect your family, including:
- Why good families have bad times over money;
- Why effective family communication is important and difficult and how to make it easier;
- The eight parts of a secure living plan;
- The five main life events that can sink the ship (and how to avoid or limit the damage);
- Why and how to document deals.
