platypus numbers in the Upper Murray.
The low flows in local streams during recent years prompted the Network to do preliminary surveys last year to try to establish a bench mark for platypus numbers.
This has lead to the beginning of a 2 year platypus survey in local streams in the Upper Murray, working with the Australian Platypus Conservancy.
These groups have committed to a two year platypus program with a real possibility of an on-going program.
The program will entail the Platypus Conservancy visiting in early October to hold an information session and two group platypus surveys over two days.
This session includes a free BBQ for attendees.
