Wangaratta Landcare and Sustainability Inc. (WLS) is the result of an integration of the Wangaratta Urban Landcare Group and Wangaratta Sustainability Network.

Because of the integration into WLS Wangaratta Urban Landcare Group is no longer active. The following is historical information about the former group.

Our group focuses upon public reserves within the City of Wangaratta, including Kaluna Park, Northern Beaches and Wenham's Lane Reserve. The group also deals with tackling local water quality, urban salinity and sustainability issues as well as raising awareness of these issues in the community.
The Wangaratta Urban Landcare Group is committed to improving the natural vegetation, waterways and urban environment of Wangaratta through community participation and co-operation.

The group been working on a number of public reserves within Wangaratta, particularly Kaluna Park, to ensure these parks can be enjoyed by all for generations to come.

Members have been gradually restoring the remnant Red Gum woodland vegetation in Kaluna Park, through weed control and removal, and planting of understorey and wetland species.

The work of the Wangaratta Urban Landcare Group was recognised through their inclusion on the cover of the 2002 White Pages for the Alexandra, Benalla and Wangaratta area.

The group welcomes new members with an interest in natural resource management and sustainability issues.
