following the April 2018 elections and annual general meeting; the new Committee comprises a good mix of experience and new faces, all keen to get underway with strategic planning once operational procedures are finalised. Members of the Committee include: Terry Hubbard, Chair (Goulburn Broken), Kaye Rodden (Corangamite), David Clark (Glenelg Hopkins), Christine Brook (North Central), Mike Haughton (West Gippsland), Jenny Robertson (East Gippsland), Alan Morton (Port Philip & Westernport), Jane Carney (North East), Leanne Jackman (Wimmera), and Professional Landcarers Asha Benham-Bannon & Kerri Robson. There is still one vacancy to be filled, for the Mallee region.
At the first full meeting of the new Committee on 16 May in Melbourne, induction was the key item on the agenda, including an intensive session on good organisational governance, run by Australian Institute of Company Directors accredited facilitator Nicholas Carr. Nicholas impressed upon the Committee the need for clear strategy and direction to underpin the purpose of Landcare Victoria and achieve success. After the Induction, the Committee met to discuss appointments of Member Council nominees – there are nominations for 26 of the 50 seats available, so around 24 are currently vacant. The next Committee meeting in June will confirm the composition of sub-committees.
