2019 State & Territory Landcare Awards

From the coast to the country, and from cities to the outback, Landcare’s greatest asset is its people - all motivated by a shared vision to restore and protect the environment in their local community.

About the Awards

For over 20 years, the Landcare Awards have recognised and celebrated the achievements of groups and individuals in the Landcare community who have made a significant contribution to the environment, sustainable farming practices and natural resource management.

The 2019 State & Territory Landcare Awards profiles individuals and groups from urban and rural communities who are working together to care for our country.

This prestigious awards program acknowledges Landcare projects that are focused on sustainable farming, biodiversity and conservation, community and wellbeing, Indigenous land management, Coastcare, youth participation and leadership.

Who can enter?

Nominations are encouraged for anyone involved in protecting and improving the environment and natural resource management, they include individuals, groups and organisations:

Landcare individuals, groups and networks
Sustainable farmers and professional farming systems groups
Indigenous landcare groups and individuals
Urban landcare groups including ‘Friends of’ and bushcare groups
Coastcare, Rivercare, Dunecare groups and individuals
Environmental groups
Natural resource management agencies
Local government
Research agencies
Agricultural co-operatives, industry associations, suppliers or individual primary producers
Junior Landcare (including day care centres, primary and secondary schools, youth groups)
Youth groups including Scouts and Girls Guides

The winners from the 2019 State & Territory Landcare Awards go forward to the 2020 National Landcare Awards, held during the 2020 National Landcare Conference.

To further promote the great work of individuals and groups, selected states and territories also run other environmental award categories that you may nominate for.
