The Upper Barwon Landcare Network (UBLN) was formed in 1997 as an umbrella group for community groups operating in the Otway foothills and plains area of the Upper Barwon river and tributaries bounded by Colac, Forrest and Inverleigh.

The network is a grass roots organisation, made up of nine Landcare groups, which has for 25 years been taking local action in the Upper Barwon area.

Our passion is to create a healthy environment and healthy rural community. We are uniquely positioned in that we are from our local community, and know and share local priorities and goals. Our activities include supporting landholders in conducting environmental works on their properties, including sourcing funding, bringing farmers together to discuss and learn from each other about productive farm practices, and running workshops, field days and community events which are relevant to local landholder needs. The network is strongly focussed on building community capacity, believing a collaborative approach empowering people is the way to create positive landscape change.
