Timeline of Panyyabyr Landcare Group Activities 1993 to 2011.
1993
Pannyyabr Landcare Group formed 24 March 1993. Initially came under Horsham region DCNR
Main issues identified at time of formation were associated with flooding.
Bus trip to neighbouring Mirranatwa & Jallukar Landcare groups
Tree seed collection days were followed by direct seeded plantations on 7 farms.
Whole Farm Planning workshop with VCAH (Longerenong)
Contacted DCNR requesting PLG be consulted on management decisions on Bryans Swamp & Wannon River
Met with Shire of Dundas & DCNR & Grant Hull regarding same.  PLG proposed a complete study of the Wannon River
Applied for Community Salinity Grant for group aerial photo to produce a catchment plan.

“Prograze” trial on 4 farms
Field Cricket control info session at “Tooronga”
PLC conducted comprehensive rabbit and fox control programs
Purchased rabbit fumigator using a government grant (stolen 1999; insurance paid for a new bait layer)
Water quality & direct seeding field day (Victoria Point bridge)
Waterway management field day (at John McIntyre’s)
$30000 grant from National Heritage Trust and grant from Waterways Incentive Scheme used to revegetate  Wannon River and tributaries (12 farms)
Participated in Monash University research project investigation titled “How can native grassy ecosystems in the Dunkeld region be sustained?”

NHT Waterways Project winds up (after 7 long years)! 13 sites, fence 42.5km, covering 187ha, 26km waterways protected, 45000 trees planted, 12 landholders.

Attempted to become involved with river reserve management – no luck
