Our group was established in 2005 to restore the biodiversity values of the Portland Cliffs. In more recent years our work has focussed on the Nuns Beach environment.
Our group is working towards the restoration of the Portland cliffs base environment and sand dunes through community involvement, support, and action. The Portland Coastal Cliffs Inc. (PCCI) current focus is to continue to remove the Sea Spurge from Nuns Beach dune, to plant indigenous plants back into the dune and to create opportunities for the existing vegetation to return. The removal of other weeds from the cliff is another important component of our work. PCCI works with SEA Alliance, Gunditj Mirring, Glenelg Shire Council, CFA, and DELWP to protect and maintain this biodiverse iconic habitat and culturally significant area.
