The Southwest Environment Alliance (SEA) was formed in 2007 under the name of South West Coast Action Landcare Network. The group changed its name in 2018 to better reflect the new direction of the Alliance and diversity of member groups.
SEA is based in the Glenelg Shire Council area of south west Victoria. The Alliance is an umbrella organization for environmental groups who are interested in advocating for and sustaining biodiverse ecosystems and economically viable natural environments. By actively encouraging communities to engage with their local groups in a collaborative and coordinated way, it is envisaged that landscape scale projects can be delivered through community based initiatives that address environmental threats and protect and enhance environmental assets.
The main role of SEA is to provide a platform for a coordinated approach to local environmental issues when required, to develop and coordinate funding applications and to share knowledge, skills and resources about natural resource management issues in our region and with our members and the broader community.
