The Goulburn Valley Tree Group (GVTG) is a volunteer community group based in Tatura, dedicated to growing and promoting native trees for the benefit of the local environment and community.

GVTG operates a native plant nursery at 4–6 Kerferd Street, Tatura, producing around 40,000 plants each year. The nursery grows a range of locally suitable native species, including eucalypts, wattles and other native plants that thrive across the Goulburn Valley.

The nursery is generally open for sales from autumn to mid-winter, on Tuesday and Saturday mornings from 9.00 am to 11.30 am. Plants are available for just $2.50 each, providing an affordable way for farmers, landholders and households to establish native vegetation. Trees can be used for windbreaks, woodlots and carbon offset plantings on farms, as well as for smaller-scale plantings in home gardens.

The group is entirely volunteer-run, with nursery work undertaken by GVTG members and supported by other local community groups. The group currently has around 25 financial members, predominantly local Tatura farmers and retired residents. Since the group was established, members have contributed more than 10,000 hours of volunteer labour, and the nursery has produced more than one million trees since 1986.

Goulburn Valley Tree Group meets from 8.30 am to 11.30 am on the second Tuesday of each month, except August, at the Tree Group Nursery. New members and anyone interested in getting involved are always welcome.
