The Sea Lake Landcare/VFF Group formed in 1992 as a result of a Tyrrell Creek fencing project. The project primarily involved fencing Tyrrell Creek at its junction with the Dunmunkle Creek. Rabbits and weeds were, and still are, the group’s main focus and this has now expanded with a major push to promote and implement sustainable farming methods and no-till best practice. Approximately 40 – 50 farms or almost 100% of landholders/properties in the district are involved in the Landcare group.
