110 groups participate in Keep Victoria Beautiful's Adopt A Roadside program. Our group has adopted a 5km section of the Midland Highway north of Huntly. This important aesthetic entrance to our town features 'significant roadside vegetation' and we hold clean up events four times each year to keep it litter free. We currently enjoy the support of Specialised Breeders Australia (Huntly Office) who supply us with a skip and take care of rubbish disposal for each event.
Our clean up dates for 2022 are Sundays 20th Feb, 22nd May, 21st August and 20th November.
Meet at the truckstop on the Midland Highway approximately 6km north of the Huntly Post Office at 1pm on these days. Wear long pants, sturdy shoes, hat and sunscreen and bring a water bottle and your phone. We supply everything else.
