In 2016, Huntly Fire Brigade were very fortunate to have a long-awaited new station built. As part of their landscaped grounds they had a vision of a garden that would showcase fire resistant and fire retardant native plants and they worked with our Landcare group to achieve it.
We suggested indigenous native plant species sourced from a list supplied by the Australian Plant Society of Victoria, assisted the group at a planting day and designed species signs.
The garden has attracted interest from Fire Brigades around Victoria and can be viewed at the station in Buckleys Lane, Huntly. More photos can be found in our Facebook page photo albums.
