BLC fourth and final general meeting for the year will feature Ant Packer from Parklands Albury Wodonga speaking on the Murray River Trail - a vision for a contiguous walking track from Bonegilla to Wahgunyah
Baranduda Landcare Meeting #4 2014 features Ant Packer from Parklands Albury Wodonga speaking on the Murray River Trail - a vision for a contiguous walking track from Bonegilla to Wahgunyah.
The plan aims to improve community access via Crown water frontages and Crown road reserves and provide for picnic, fishing and swimming areas as a multi-use recreational, environmental, heritage and tourist resource.
The long term vision is for pedestrian access to the Murray River Track (MRT) to be a continuous track starting at the birthplace of multicultural Australia at Bonegilla Migrant Experience Heritage Park, skirting the foreshore of Lake Hume and continuing along the Victorian banks of the Murray River through to Wahgunyah.
The Murray River bush track will become a popular pedestrian and mountain bike track that links with other regionally and locally significant tracks and trails, including the High Country Rail Trail, Kiewa River Track, Wagirra Trail, Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and Hume & Hovell Track.
