Labertouche Sustainable Farming and Landcare Group was established over 20 years ago by a small group of local landowners who wanted to see the native vegetation protected and better farming practices. The main focus of the group is to conduct the majority of its activities on private land but it also has a vested interest in the protection and maintenance of the nearby public reserves. Since 1999 the group has completed over 102 projects with 59.6km fencing, 141 ha protected/planted with 38,000 and 11.3km of direct seeding. Our focus now is moving to protecting our extensive re-vegetation projects and control of pest animals such as rabbits, foxes and deer.
