This Friends Group meets weekly (generally a Thursday) and monthly (first Saturday of the month) to undertake rehabilitation and restoration works in the bushland and wetlands of Sages Cottage, in Baxter. We also undertake one off events with local community groups.
Our ultimate goal is to link the bushland and wetlands through the development of an ephemeral streamline and a wildlife corridor, increasing the biodiversity of the site and surrounding areas.
Whilst undertaking this activity we will also rehabiltate the wetlands and remnant bushland. The activities to achieve this long-term goal include weed removal, plant propagation and planting, fauna surveys and habitat creation along with a variety of other conservation management tasks.
