The Threatened Bird Network is a community based program aimed at encouraging participation in urgent conservation tasks for threatened birds.
TBN was established in 1996, and continues to link the community with conservation of our threatened birds. Over the years a number of diverse projects have utilised the services of TBN. This has involved assistance with activities such as surveys, attendance at recovery team meetings, and running training workshops. At any time TBN has over 5000 volunteers registered and assists up to 30 projects per year working on threatened bird conservation. The main vehicle for promoting the activities for volunteer involvement is our Volunteer newsletter.
