ResourceSmart Schools

ResourceSmart Schools is a Victorian Government program that helps schools benefit from embedding sustainability in everything they do, and take action on climate change.  The program has five modules, including one on biodiversity, to help your school track its sustainability journey and identify savings made.

Sustainable Living Challenge

The Sustainable Living Challenge is a leading national secondary schools program that encourages students and their teachers to explore sustainability issues as a part of the school experience.

Waterwatch Victoria

Waterwatch Victoria is a successful community engagement program connecting local communities with river health and sustainable water issues and management. The Waterwatch website contains a wide range of education resources for schools, teachers and students.

LandLearn

The now closed LandLearn program provided resources to support schools to incorporate studies of sustainable agriculture and natural resource management into the Victorian curriculum.  Link to these resources are now hosted on the Geography Teachers Association of Victorian Inc website.

Gould League

The Gould League is an independent not-for-profit organisation in Victoria with a long and proud history of environmental and sustainability education.

The League helps teachers boost the impact of their science and sustainability curriculum, connect students with their natural world and empower the community with positive messages and practical actions to live more sustainably.

SEED

The School Environment Education Directory (SEED) website an online resource for teachers, students and environment staff in Victoria. This one-stop website provides a fantastic range of information on environment curriculum resources, local environment contacts, local excursions and a great section for students to explore.

The information is presented in the topics of biodiversity, climate change, general sustainability, waste and water. The SEED website has been developed to assist teachers access information on environmental sustainability and to better link local environment staff, projects and information to schools.

The SEED project has been possible through the commitment of a range of local organisations, local schools, teachers and funding from the Australian Government.   While many resources have been targeted to the North East CMA Region (the host of the website) much of the information is relevant and easily modified for other regions.

CSIRO Education

This site has links to a range of information on CSIRO science for schools and students.

ABC Science online

An ABC resource site with a wide range of information for schools, students and anyone interested in science and information about the natural world.  This includes discussion forums, quizzes and games as well as aids for teaching science.

Weeds CRC School Resources

The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Australian Weed Management has a range of resources for teachers, students and schools, including Ghastly guests and Weedbusters.  Resources include full lesson plans and links to curricula in all states.

EPA Victoria

A range of information from the Environment Protection Agency Victoria for schools and students.

Farmsafe Australia has information to assist in keeping children safe on farms and teaching resources for school.
