The Victorian Government has committed $1.8 million for Victorian Landcare Grants in 2018-19 to support Landcare and other environmental volunteer groups to undertake projects that protect and restore the land and environment.
Minister for Environment Lily D'Ambrosio announced successful grant recipients on 19 July 2018.
The 2018-19 Victorian Landcare Grants will fund 363 applications, including 143 project grants, 218 support grants and two start-up grants.
Grants were open to all Victorian Landcare and environmental volunteer groups and networks that advance the Landcare ethic and care for the environment. These included, but were not limited to Coastcare groups, Conservation Management Networks, “Friends of” groups, Landcare groups and networks.
Project grants of up to $20,000 were available for on-ground works, education and capacity building projects to protect and restore Victoria’s land and environment.
Support and start-up grants of $500 were also available for new and existing groups.
