Fifteen Landcare members joined this years annual Landcare bus trip which took in the scenic landscapes of South Gippsland. The group enjoyed 3 days of travel and a variety of interesting speakers and activities. Click for more info...
Activities included viewing botanical art works at the Celia Rosser Gallery at Fish Creek, picking up working dog training tips at Beluka Kelpies, learning about the pasture trials and work the Yarram Yarram Landcare Group is conducting near Woodend and a hilly walk and talk at a prime lamb property near Dumbalk. The driving between activities was just as interesting as the events themselves as we from the flat Western Plains took in the issues hill farmers have to deal with such as landslips and gully erosion. All this was rewarded by the magnificent views of the Gippsland Coast, Wilsons Prom and the green rolling hills. The trip home was broken up by a stop at the impressive Cranbourne Botanical Gardens and a ride home via the Sorrento to Queenscliff Ferry. The bus trip was subsidized through the CCMA's Sue Hickey Memorial Grant.
