Rokewood is the destination.

There are dozens of products available to landholders today to provide them with a source of nutrients for their pastures and crops.”Conventional” fertilisers producers compete for out dollar with “alternative” nutrient sources, including animal manures, biosolids, compost, fish emulsion and biological products.  Many claims are made by the promoters of these products, which to the ordinary landholder may be conflicting and confusing. Finally, an independent trial is being conducted by respected pasture scientist Cam Nicholson, to compare some of the many products available to us.

Cam is 18 months into a long term, independent trial of a number of biological products and alternative nutrient sources, over a number of trial sites in the Woady Yaloak catchment. Cam has kindly agreed to present us with an overview of the trials he is conducting, discuss preliminary results, and walk us through a trial site (weather permitting), in the Rokewood district.

Please bring suitable wet weather clothing and footwear

Bus travel and lunch are provided with thanks to CCMA,  DPI and the Australian Government, Caring for Country Grants
