In 2016, the South West was shaken by the heaviest rainfalls for September since 1921.

In 2016, the South West experienced the heaviest rainfalls for September since 1921. 

 Some towns were inundated in the following days as the flood waters moved through the catchments. 

 Then, in early October, there was another downpour in the South West adding to the impacts on people, businesses and towns.

The CMA has spent the years following the floods, working towards rehabilitating the land and soil.
