The Miners Rest Landcare group together with the greater community will be undertaking tree planting day with the aim of planting 1200 trees over the weekend.

The local primary school will be doing their bit on the Friday planting around 300 trees, whilst the community will be stepping up on the Sunday to attempt the remianing 900 trees.
The restoration of this section of Burrumbeet Creek is long overdue and will mark the beginning of a greater project to reclaim land currently covered by weeds, barbed wire, an old well and pine trees.  The restoration will involve multiple tree planting events over the next 4 years from a combined effort between Landcare, the Ballarat City Council, the Miners Rest Lions club and the local primary school.
