Early appearance of scarlet robins at Baranduda

Neville Bartlett of Baranduda Landcare reported on March 21st that

"I had a visit this afternoon from a Scarlet Robin. Seems a bit early this year.
Thought it was a female but on closer inspection of the image it looks as though it might be an immature male. The black is starting to appear on the head. Also we have an immature male Satin Bowerbird setting up in one of our bushes.  Lots of calling practice over the last couple of weeks."

You can read more about the scarlet robin, find out why its numbers are declining in urban environments and hear its call at the birds in backyards website for the scarlet robin
