Instruction and practice of prickly pear cactus removal on roadsides and bush reserves.

Winter is well and truly here and winter is cactus control season!

Come and learn about the control and of an emerging roadside weed in parts of the Rural City of Wangaratta. The Prickly Pear (Opuntia ficus de India). 

Special Guest:  Ian Grenda from the Central Victorian Tarrengower Cactus Control Committee will be on hand to instruct local volunteers in effective control of cactus species utilising injection and manual removal of cactus plants.

Free BBQ lunch - please RSVP to the secretary by Friday 20th of July

Meeting at Foster’s Lake roadside stop at Glenrowan between 10am to 2pm.

Also on display for the day will be our new fox trap available for hire to Greta Landcare members.  We will have information available on the effective use of this trap.
