This event is part of
An evening seminar and discussion on the interactions between honey bees and the envrionment and the agricultural landscape. Are honey bees under threat and what can we do about it?
Greta Valley Landcare presents an evening on -
Honey bees and the Agricultural landscape
White painted boxes appear over night in a paddock, stay for a few weeks or months, then disappear to who knows where. The practice of beekeeping is largely unseen and little understood, and yet we almost instinctively know that this practice represents something of value and interest going on in the landscape.
Honey bees have had their share of media attention in recent times.
Ø Are bees [and other pollinators] really under threat?
Ø Why the current surge in interest in keeping bees?
Ø And will civilisation as we know it collapse if bees disappear?
Come and join Greta Landcare and local beekeepers Linton and David Briggs to find the answers to these questions and any more that you wish to ask about bees and their relationship to the agricultural and natural environment.
