Kiewa Catchment Landcare Groups was delighted to receive two Awards at the Fire Awareness Awards held at Melbourne in December 2015.
The Indigenous use of Fire Project was the co-winner of the "Community-led Prevention and Preparedness" Award and the prestigious "RACV Insurance Award for Excellence".

The project was a partnership between Landcare, Traditional Owners (local & Cape York), North East Catchment Management Authority and North East Victorian Landholders.

A great pat on the back for all involved, and most importantly the recognition of the important role of Traditional Ecological Knowledge when it comes to managing our Landscapes.
