Pasture tour
You are invited to a field day on 17 February at Fernvale Hall starting at 9.30 am for registration and coffee. Our guest speaker is Amanda Conley who is an experienced agronomist who specialises in the biological and chemical interactions in the soil and will speak about this, and the importance of comprehensive soil testing to enable informed decisions to be made regarding any soil amendments needed to produce productive pastures.
Amanda will also explain the results of the soil tests so we can have a better understanding of what they mean. Please bring along copies of your recent soil tests so you can gain an understanding of your tests and ask any questions you may have.
I have also asked Amanda to talk about which grass/fodder species would do well in the Mitta Valley and how we can avoid feed gaps at certain times of the year.
A light lunch will be provided before we visit a local farm to wander the paddocks
