Preparation for July planting along Moonlight Creek

We will gather where Happy Valley Rd crosses Moonlight Creek at the winter starting time of 10 am.

The task is to prepare for planting 300 plus plants on 22 July (put this in your diaries too).  This planting will be on the north side of Forest Creek starting at the junction with Moonlight Creek and working upstream for a couple of hundred metres.  Stakes have already been put out to show where the plants will go on 22 July, and we will clear the weeds from around each stake. We will not be digging holes - this will be done by Landmate (the working party from the prison) later.

We will work from 10.00 am - 1.00 pm and morning tea will be available.

Please wear stout footwear and dress for the weather (sunscreen probably not necessary!).  Bring gardening gloves, and digging/weeding tools if you have them.

You can park on Happy Valley Rd - it will be too slippery to drive along the creek frontage as we sometimes do.

By the way, the poplars-area planting on Mothers Day and again two weeks later was a great success, and we've been lucky with a bit of rain since.  DELWP is organising a third planting effort in that area to finish it off, and then we will aim to provide a summary of the total project.
