Preparation for National Tree Day

Meet at the corner of Colles Rd and Farran St at 10.00 am.  The work sites run alongside the creek and down the track beside the horse paddock (approx 800 m).

Please wear stout footwear and bring gardening gloves.  The ground is rough and there are some hazards and steep slopes in some places.

In preparation for National Tree Day we need to:

•    Dig 30 holes by hand - all other holes have been dug by a machine (driven by a daredevil!),

•    Prepare the 600 sites for planting on 28 July (fill them in a bit, leave a lip on the downhill side to retain water, make sure there are no weeds/rocks/lumps in the soil that will be used by the planters to backfill),

•    Get out remaining weeds

•     A small amount of brushcutting, and

•      Spread mulch over the weediest areas

We will work from 10.00 am - 12.00 pm and morning tea will be available.
