Indigenous food and fibre area

Meet at the start of Leanganook Track - the little carpark on Happy Valley Rd (at the bottom of Verlin St.)

We will start preparation for the Mothers Day planting which focuses on food and fibre plants such as Murnong (yam daisy).  We will make some mini-terraces for Murnong, do some brush-cutting, and weed around planting sites.  We would also like willing workers to do some planting in adjacent sites.

Bring weeding tools and brush-cutters if you have them.  Don't forget stout footwear, sunscreen, hat and gardening gloves.  Morning tea will be available.

Two other things:

1.    We confirm that the AGM will be on Wednesday 13 May at 7.30 pm, with a great guest speaker who will talk to ou about our aquifers - put that in your diary.

2.    Friends of Campbells Creek Landcare group is organising a FREE public workshop on Sunday 15 March 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm when experts from the Australian Platypus Conservancy will highlight the conservation needs of these animals and outline ways in which the community can help monitor their populations in local rivers, creeks and lakes. A practical demonstration in nearby Campbells Creek will follow the formal presentation.
