This event is part of
Preparation for June planting in Moonlight Creek
We will be working at our new site in Moonlight Creek (north of Happy Valley Road) in conjunction with DELWP, to prepare the area for planting in June. The area has recently been groomed by DELWP to remove gorse and blackberry, but we need to remove more weeds and clean up the riplines ready for planting.
Please bring mattocks, gloves, loppers, secateurs and strong rakes if possible.
Park at the top end of Moonlight Creek, off Happy Valley Road. You can drive in either from the Duke Street end of Happy Valley Road, or the Colles Road end. We will meet there to walk to the work site, and on the way we'll learn more about the working being done to create new habitat for the rare Bibron's Toadlet, recently found in the area.
This is Area 12 on the Keepers of the Creek map.
