Family friendly event: learn about the amazing creatures that inhabit our waterways.
North Central CMA, in partnership with Castlemaine Landcare Group and the Mount Alexander Shire Council, is running a 2 hour community workshop along Forest Creek where the Landcare Group has been working to restore habitat for waterway health and local fauna.
John Gooderham, Aquatic Ecologist and waterbug expert extraordinaire will join us so we can learn all about these amazing creatures that live in our waterways. John will give a demonstration on how to collect a waterbug sample and will help us identify waterbugs and will teach us why they are an important feature in our waterways.
Bring your gumboots and have a go catching some of these little creatures! Children are especially welcome and will enjoy helping identify the waterbugs.
This is a free event and snacks will be provided.
