This event is part of
"Big Cleanup" along Campbells Creek to prepare for planting. Visitors are welcome. Morning tea provided.
The Friends of Campbells Creek, together with the local schools, are working to turn the public land along the creek between Princess St and Cemetery Rd into a real asset for the community.
We'll be clearing away the old internal barbed-wire fencing, engine blocks, iron, tyres and other remnants left on the area to make way for weed removal and planting work later on. We need lots of help.
Please bring hats, strong gloves, sturdy clothing, rain/sun protection, your own water (and a friend). We'll provide tea/coffee biscuits and some collection bags.
Many of the materials we'll be removing are sharp (barbed wire), rusty, or heavy, and need to be handled carefully - work suitable only for adults and teenagers.
There will be chances later on for younger children to be involved. However if you'd like to attend just to walk and view the area you're welcome to bring younger children too, but will need to stay clear of the clean-up areas.
Looking forward to a really successful morning, and a cleaner Creek.
