We'll be planting understorey species at 'Carpetland'—one of the really high profile sites along the creek.

As it’s one of the trail’s most visible entry points to the creek precinct, we’re hoping to turn this long neglected site that once had good tree cover into a welcoming showpiece.

We’ll be attempting to plant over 300 seedlings, around half of which will be Lomandra plants, a species that has proven to be one of the best for this kind of situation.

Meet at: 10:00 a.m. on the trail alongside Central Carpets, Castlemaine. If arriving in car, it’s probably best to park at the south end of Camp Crescent, then walk over the footbridge and southwards towards the highway for another 120 m.

We'll finish with a BBQ around noon.

Please bring: Gloves, hats, sturdy clothing & footwear, protection suitable for the weather, and your own water. We’ll supply the rest - hope to see you there.
