Hands on learning about how to go the next step in ecological restoration --re-establishing the understorey.
Ever wondered how to re-introduce the wildflowers back in your bush, how to eliminate the weeds from your revegetation patch or how to get self sustaining regeneration of native species? These issues and more will be discussed and demonstrated at this field day and attendees will experience hands-on some of the simple practical techniques involved.
Ian Higgins, group member and revegetation expert with the North Central Catchment Management Authority has been experimenting with restoration of riparian native vegetation since 1986. Come along to hear about his experiences with bushland regeneration along Campbells Creek.
