Follow up planting of Lewis Swamp

Once again, we’ll be planting into ‘Lewis Swamp’; the only substantial natural wetland adjoining any of Castlemaine’s creeks. Last year's plantings are doing well—today we’ll be re-introducing more species that we think have a chance of prospering here.

The species we'll be planting are listed here with links to photos.

Most aquatic species are easy to grow and plant, but we’ll be working in muddy, wet soil at the edge of the water, so expect to get a little damp!

We hope you can come along and help us transform this place into a beautiful wetland habitat.

Meet in the car-park at the western end of Lewis Drive, Castlemaine for a 10:00 AM start.

We'll finish at mid-day with a late morning tea.

Please bring: gloves, hats, sturdy clothing & gum boots, protection suitable for the weather, and your own water.

We’ll supply the rest - hope to see you there!
