We would like to welcome members and surrounding Communities to the Arthurs
Creek District Landcare Group April Landcare talk – a presentation by Rowan Reid,
Forest Scientist, Tree Grower and author of ‘Heartwood’.
Rowan Reid is a forester amongst farmers. In 1987 he established the Bambra
Agroforestry Farm in southern Victoria where he grows more than 70 tree species
for timber, seed, bush food and other products. Rowan is now harvesting, milling
and solar drying furniture timber from the trees he planted.
Rowan lectured agroforestry, Landcare at Melbourne University for more than 30
years and developed the Australian Master TreeGrower program which is run
around Australia and overseas.
In his presentation Rowan will share his experience and passion for trees, and his
extraordinary knowledge of the science of tree growing. Rowan will be selling copies
of his book, Heartwood, on the night.
