We plant indigenous plants in winter and weed in summer.
The Burke Road Billabong Reserve is approximately 10 hectares of Crown land within the Municipality of Boroondara. The Reserve is Crown land under the management responsibility of the Burke Road Billabong Reserve Committee of Management Inc.
A volunteer Committee of Management was formed in 2008 to rehabilitate the reserve. Since then, the large areas of wandering trad, blackberry and boxthorn have been controlled, other weeds eradicated, and thousands of indigenous plants have been reintroduced.
Community workdays are held regularly and members of the public are welcomed.
