“Trust for Nature covenants”
A talk by
Chris Lindorff,
Port Phillip and Westernport Regional Manager, Trust for Nature
and
Lynlee Tozer,
Stewardship Officer, Trust for Nature
combined with a group meeting at Pip and Doug’s place
40 Dean Road
from 2pm - 5pm on Sunday, 25th June, 2006
The Trust for Nature covenanting program is a mechanism for ensuring the long-term security of conservation values on land in private ownership.
Covenants are an agreement between the landholder and Trust for Nature that conserves the natural features of a site by protecting it from subdivision, clearing or inappropriate development. The covenant is registered on the property title and binds all future owners.
In Christmas Hills many private properties have high conservation values and Chris and Lynlee will help us understand how Trust for Nature can help to protect these values, including what is involved in covenanting a property.
