Will you help us make Fairway Reserve in Mount Waverley a lot greener?
The Friends of Scotchmans Creek and Valley Reserve, in co-operation with the City of Monash, and Scouts Victoria, is holding its annual National Tree Day planting in Mount Waverley on Sunday, 31 July 2011, starting at 9:00 am.
Melbourne Water has provided the money for us to buy 6000 native plants which are just waiting to go into the ground and start shooting up. The planting site is Fairway Reserve and registration is at the Scout Halls car park at the end of Fairway Avenue, Mount Waverley, Melways Ref.: 70:E5.
It’s a “family friendly” event – everyone can help and all are welcome. Round up your friends, get a team together from work or make it your community group’s day out in the fresh air.
The Scouts will be cooking up a yummy free BBQ, so that’s lunch fixed for you.
If you want more details, ring Ted Mason on 9802 3481, or see the Planet Ark/Toyota National Tree Day web site for Mount Waverley, 3149.
