This event is part of
Direct Seeding Field Day:
Wednesday 17th October at 10 am. Henry’s Creek Sanctuary. Meet at bird hide. A light lunch, coffee and tea will be provided. It is planned to have a couple of speakers on the subject in the morning and demonstrations early afternoon. The timing would be 10 am start, noon lunch, 12.45 to 2 pm practical demonstrations. The site is accessible on foot and very limited access for four-wheel drive vehicles. Gum boots or stout walking footwear recommended.
About 35 attended the first day of this programme at the property of Ian and Vicky Hodges’s, where seed collecting was demonstrated, and we visited properties where direct seeding had been carried out. There is no reason to stay away if you weren’t at that first day, as no prior knowledge of direct seeding is necessary..
Whether by hand or machine, there are advantages over tube-stock if you are prepared to have a go.
